You are invited to participate in the International Conference of New Perspectives in Education and Social Sciences (INPESS 2022). The Conference will be held as a fully virtual/online meeting on November 23-24, 2022.

INPESS 2022 is jointly organized by OpenED Network and Education Research and Rural Community Development Forum. The Conference aims to bring together researchers, experts, graduate students and practitioners from different countries, and to offer opportunities to share the ideas, and to discuss theoretical and practical issues in education and social sciences.

Please note that only oral presentations will be accepted at INPESS 2022. There will not be poster presentations and/or presentations in other formats. All the papers accepted and presented at INPESS 2022 will be published as full-text paper in the conference proceedings book.

To attend the Conference, please register and submit your proposal first. The proposal will be added to the submission panel in your account. If your proposal is accepted for presentation, then you may upload your full-text paper for publication in the proceedings book. To prepare your proposal, please refer to Conference Guidelines

    Yusef Waghid

    Title of Presentation: Learning, Openness and Democratic Play

 

Yusef Waghid, a leading African philosopher of education, is distinguished professor at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. He is a prolific author with 412 publications to date of which 53 are academic books and edited collections and, 86 invited contributions to books. He received the Association for the Development of Education in Africa’s prestigious Education Research in Africa Award: Outstanding Mentor of Education Researchers (2015). He is editor of two prominent academic journals, namely Citizenship, Teaching and Learning (since 2018), and South African Journal of Higher Education (since 2005), and serves as a board member of the Council on Higher Education in South Africa.

Dean of HEI - School of Education, Communication and Sport, Polytechnic of Guarda, from 12/01/2015 until 14/01/2019. Member of the Executive Commission of CEI - (Centro de Estudos Ibéricos - http://www.cei.pt/cei/estrutura.htm) from 12/01/2015 until 14/01/2019. Member of the board of UDI (Research Unit for Inland Development - http://www.ipg.pt/udi/) from 02/2012 until 12/2014. Develops research in the area of Mathematics Education, ICT, Multicultural Education, ICT and Inclusion, Innovation in Education and Entrepreneurship Education. Has several scientific publications and developed activities and projects with different HEI from Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Sweden, Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary, Belgium, Germany, Albania, Uzbekistan, Brasil, Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica among others, is an evaluator for ERASMUS+ Portuguese Agency and European COST projects.

 

 
Anja Neundorf
University of Glasgow, UK
 
Title of Presentation: The politicisation of education: Evidence from a new global dataset on school indoctrination

 

Anja Neundorf is a Professor of Politics and Research Methods at the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Glasgow, UK. Before joining Glasgow, she held positions at the University of Nottingham (2013-2019) and Nuffield College, University of Oxford (2010-2012). She received her PhD from the University of Essex. Professor Neundorf is currently leading an ERC-funded project on “Democracy under Threat: How Education can Save it” (DEMED). Website: http://www.aneundorf.net
